A wonderful atmosphere, truly reminiscent of a French bistro-style restaurant, makes this one of my favoured venues in the gourmet capital of South Africa. The delicious food created by Chef Patron Matthew Gordon is simple and traditional with some wonderful sauces to complement the core dishes.
My personal favourites, apart from the excellent steak selection, are the Veal Schnitzel with fresh porcini sauce and the Salmon Trout & dill fish cakes with green herb mayonnaise. Crispy Roast Duck, Fresh Mussels (with French Fries) are also highly recommended.
The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner –and the lunch menu offers a superb range of salads such as grilled calamari & chourico sausage with wild rocket and paprika dressing and a smoked chicken breast with roasted beetroot, hummus & garlic yoghurt dressing.
Indoor and outdoor seating is on offer.
Gould’s special note: The General Manager, Jason Ratner, is a delightful host and ensures the food is complemented by efficient and friendly service.
